ROSS Inception (and) XPression Question
Hi all,
We have recently acquired ROSS Inception. We are ecstatic to have added both Inception and Streamline to our workflow. However we have a question about Inception and XPression operating within the Inception UI. Our question is, are users able to see and change DataLinq Keys within XPression sequence scenes?
Any input is appreciated,
- Hunter

Hi Hunter,
Datalinq is licensed per engine, whether it's a playout engine or a preview render engine. You can use use Datalinq Keys in your scenes. But you will not see them in the plugin preview unless Datalinq is licensed for the Gateway/Preview Render engine. But if you type a Datalinq Key into the object, even if you can't see it in the plugin at the time, it will work on the XPression engine playing out the graphic presuming Datalinq is licensed for that engine.
Hope that helps,
Chris

@ckelly I think I understand, my only follow up question is if I can't see the field to enter the key how or where would I enter the key in the preview engine within Inception?

You should be able to see the key in the plugin. It looks like this:

There is a "key" icon right next to the created Datalinq Key items.
